A note from me

I have always been curious about the quiet relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.

A home is more than the things we place inside it. It is where our days begin and end. Where we leave traces of ourselves. Where ordinary gestures — washing our face in the morning, opening a window, wrapping ourselves in linen, lighting a candle at the end of the day — slowly become rituals.

Perhaps this is why, after more than a decade of working with furniture and interiors, I began to look beyond the objects themselves.

I started wondering what it means to create something that stays with us for a long time. Something that becomes familiar through use, gains character with age, and quietly becomes part of our lives.

MALA grew from these thoughts.

I wanted to create a world where furniture, textiles and everyday objects could feel connected — by the materials they are made from, by the hands that make them, and by the way they invite us to experience our homes.

I am drawn to natural materials, honest craftsmanship and design that leaves room for life to happen around it. To things that don't need to be perfect to become beautiful. To the meeting point between pragmatism and a little bit of romance.

MALA is my exploration of all of this.

And perhaps, if you are here, some of these thoughts are familiar to you too.

So I don't want MALA to be simply a place where you find something to buy. I would rather it become a place we return to — for an idea, a feeling, a ritual, or simply a moment of pause.

A place to listen to nature within oneself.
